Our Track Record

The 500 Schools program represents the work of more than 100 talented people, across several organisations over more than a decade.
The core of the 500 schools team are the leaders of Knowledge Society, EDvance and Classroom Mastery.

In 2022, Knowledge Society launched their Classroom Mastery program which solves the problem of how to implement whole-school practice change that reaches every classroom.
It combines ease of adoption with high fidelity and has been delivered in more than 180 schools, with impressive results. Catholic Education Sandhurst, whose 52 schools implemented Classroom Mastery in all classrooms, have commissioned an impact study by Deloitte Access Economics, due to report in December 2026.
School Level

Fogarty EDvance delivered its three-year school leadership development program to its first cohort in 2012 and partnered with McKinsey to use their Organisational Health Index and practices within the program.
EDvance has now been delivered to over 160 government schools in low socio-economic communities in Western Australia. Student engagement, community involvement, and school culture has improved at every school that has completed the program. 60% of schools have achieved a significant improvement in student outcomes on NAPLAN or school completion measures.
System Level

In 2015, Knowledge Society began working in school improvement in Western Australia and from 2017 continued the work in the
ACT and NSW.
This culminated in the highly successful five-year Catalyst program rolled out in Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn’s 56 schools. Catalyst was Australia’s first whole-of-system transformation initiative and it has achieved standout results. The Catalyst model has been adopted by Catholic Education Tasmania (38 schools) as well as Catholic Education Sandhurst (52 schools). The impact of Catalyst has been hailed as a breakthrough in Australian education.
